Uber Driver Leaves Elderly Needham Couple On The Side Of The Road

DEDHAM, MA — An Uber driver came to pick up the 87-year-old Maya and Isak Kayserman, a married couple at a dentist office in Dedham Center. The driver was supposed to take them back to their home, just five miles away in Needham Heights, but the Kaysermans never got there.

The driver left the couple on the side of the road, Maya told the Boston Globe. The driver did not dispute her claim. He said he was threatened and berated by Maya.

Maya said she was only asking the driver why he was going a certain direction. She said he was driving the wrong way.

Maya is recovering from a stroke, has skin cancer and macular degeneration. She's also had two knee replacements and one hip replacement. Isak has advanced stage dementia. She had to call her son, who drove more than 15 miles from Canton to pick them up.
