UPDATE: Black Bear Tranquilized in Chestnut Hill, Hauled Away

Update 12:15 p.m. According to a report posted on Boston.com, Brookline Police believe the bear captured in Chestnut Hill is not the same animal that was seen Monday in Needham and over the weekend in Dedham, based on tags that bear was wearing.

Brookline Police Chief Daniel O'Leary reportedly told the Globe that police believe there is another bear that is still active in the area.

Update 10:19 a.m. Twitter reports indicate the bear has been hauled away. According to Patch correspondent , who is on scene, veternarians arrived to check out the bear before it was transported. 

It is not clear at this time where authorities plan to take the bear.

Update 10 a.m. NECN reporter @eileencurran1 is reporting via Twitter that the bear is still asleep and waiting for transport to take him out west.

9:51 a.m. Brookline Police have requested 12 30-pound bags of ice from Brookline Ice and Coal to Pine Road for the bear, according to scanner reports.

9:45 a.m. @alexjonesphoto is reporting via Twitter that the bear has been tranquilized and has fallen out of the tree. 

9:34 a.m. According to @alexjonesphoto in Twitter, the bear has been tranquilized. 

9:25 a.m. Police are closing down Hammond Street around the bear to cut down on traffic.

According to Brookline Police scanner reports, officers are working to slow traffic in the area and are stationing cruisers at Hammond Street and Heath Street, Hammond Street and Woodward Street as well as Pine Street and Woodward Street.

After , Brookline Police have tracked it to a tree on Pine Road. 

Environmental Police are on scene with bucket trucks and a front end loader in to get the bear down from the tree, according to @TheBelloBlotter on Twitter.

Monday morning a black bear . Environmental and local police responded to the scene but lost sight of the bear. 

It is possible this is the same bear that , where the bear was spotted over the weekend.
