Anne McCaffrey, a Needham resident and artist, has been selected to have her artwork, Summer Days at Rosemary (above), displayed on a utility box located at the corner of Great Plain Ave. and Webster Street.
"I love the idea of transforming unremarkable, utilitarian boxes into unique and expresses pieces of public art," Anne stated. "Projects like this can help create community through dialogue, a sense of place, and a feeling of shared ownership."
Anne's work is the first to be selected as part of the Needham Cultural Council's Art Box Project, which is working to feature work by local artists on utility boxes throughout town. Thank you to Needham Bank for their generous donation to produce the wrap.
