Vandalism, Drug Distribution, And More: Needham Police Log

July 30
8:40 a.m. - A man and a woman from Broadmeadow Road came to the police station to report possible fraudulent activity against them from two online banks. In this case, they were not financially compromised and were advised on measures to protect their identities.

July 31
3:15 p.m. - An officer responded to a vandalism call on 1st Avenue. The damage was caused by a small SUV jumping the curb in the parking lot and driving around on the grass on two places. The vehicle also ran over several traffic cones before leaving after approximately five minutes. The damage was relatively minor. Extra checks of the property have been requested.

3:30 p.m. - A resident of Clarke Circle told police that her identity was used to make false charges on her credit card.
4:15 p.m. - An officer responded to a Highland Avenue business for a report of a possible vehicle repair scam going on in the parking lot. All parties involved were spoken with, no money was exchanged, and all parties left the scene without issue.
5:30 p.m. - An officer responded to O’Connor Landscaping on Hillside Avenue to investigate a report of vandalism to the trucks. It is under investigation.
August 1
4:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a Highland Avenue address for a report of a man who lost his cell phone. The victim who stated he was sitting in the chairs that are beyond the computers. He reported he left and forgot his phone. He realized the mistake and came back and could not find his phone. He stated the phone is worth approximately $100 and he described it as a gray smartphone, but could not remember make or model.
5:00 p.m. - Needham detectives along with the help of NORPAC detectives conducted surveillance on Birds Hill Ave as a result of an ongoing investigation. As a result of this investigation, David Leicht, 20, of Needham, was charged with possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute and possession of a Class C drug and Christopher Burke, 19, of Needham, was charged with possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute.
