Walker School Career Day 2015
During Walker School's Career Day, students found new inspiration for their futures as adults.

During Walker School’s Career Day, students found new inspiration for their futures as adults. Volunteers from various professions joined the Needham campus to share their talents, passion and expertise with students.
Student learned from community members across Needham:
- Officer Karl Harmon, Needham Police, talked about the safety and deputized students are junior officers – complete with stick-on shields – letting them hear the full impact of the police cruiser.
- Elliott Maraniss, musician and math tutor, demonstrated the value of musical experimentation and encouraged students to improvise on his keyboard.
- Alex Brame, soccer coach GPS-Massachusetts, played ball and spoke of the importance of practice, patience and getting better over time.
- Timothy and Charlotte Surgenor, farmers, brought a chicken for a show-and-tell-and-pet.
- Bonaparte, magician, wowed students with his tricks and imparting the importance of preparation before one can pull a rabbit out of a hat.
- Mark Lehman, Karate instructor, practiced self-defense techniques.
- Rob Giumetti, member of the Needham Firefighters - Local 1706, showed off his fire-safety equipment and how he stays safe in the case of an emergency.
- Laurie Broyer, Hairdresser, discussed personal style and helped students express themselves through their hair and nail designs.
Walker is grateful to all of our Career Day volunteers!
