Warrant Arrest, Tractor-Trailer Strikes Wires, And More: Needham Police Log

July 11

10:23 p.m. - Officers responded to an Allen Street residence and arrested Ignacio Jauregui, 54, of Needham for two active warrants.

11:25 a.m. - An officer was performing selective enforcement on Kendrick Street near 3rd Avenue. As a result of a traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker, Heath Bennett, 36, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, was arrested on a warrant and cited for unlicensed operation.

1:10 p.m. - A walk-in at the station reported a past accident. No injuries were reported and no tows were required. The damage was minimal and the parties involved exchanged information.

July 13

2:45 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on 4th Avenue. As a result of a traffic stop, a 53-year-old man from Concord, New Hampshire will be summoned to Dedham District Court for unlicensed operation and speeding.

4:45 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Central Avenue near Forest Street. The operator, a 52 year old Newton man, had a suspended license was cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.


July 14

9:00 a.m. - An officer responded to Alden Road for a tractor-trailer unit that struck low hanging cable lines. Verizon was notified and made the appropriate repairs.

12:00 p.m. - A resident of Fairview Road reported that someone used his identity in an attempt to get his credit card information. The attempt was blocked.

2:20 p.m. - An officer on foot in Needham Heights Square observed a driver manipulating a cell phone in his right hand. The vehicle was stopped and a 43-year-old man from Framingham was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and impeded operation.
