Wayne From Maine Kicks Off Summer Reading
Children's musician got kids dancing at his Thursday, June 23 show at the library.
Wayne From Maine stopped by the on Thursday to help kick off the Summer Reading Club season. Whether they were buzzing along to "Bugs," showing off their antlers during "Moosachusetts" or busting a move to "Rocks in My Head, everyone who attended the program had a grand old time.
Up next, the library will host "Glue and Go Costumes with Holly Cleeland" on Monday, July 11 at 3:30 p.m. Cleeland will demonstrate how to make costumes out of everyday items found around the house and will make three costumes based on the summer reading theme of "One World, Many Stories" that a few lucky participants will be able to take home with them.
In the mean time, keep reading! If you haven't signed up for Summer Reading Club, stop into the children's department during library hours or go online. There are two age groups: Read to Me (ages 3-6) and Independent Readers (kindergarten through sixth grade). The last day to sign up is July 30.
