Whoa Nelly! Police Return Mini-Horse to Needham Home

NEEDHAM, MA — It took five people and a banana, but a mini horse on the run was returned back to its Needham home early Saturday morning.

Needham police Lt. Chris Baker told the Boston Herald that police responded to a report of a loose animal at the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and Manning Street, only to find a miniature horse named Lucy standing in the road. Police were able to lure the horse to them with a banana and return her home.

Another horse also escaped but didn't venture far from home.

Police are unsure how the horses got out.
