• State Offers Aid to Shellfish Industry Following Haverhill Sewage Release (whav.net) — Shellfish harvesters in Newbury are among those getting a share of $300,000 in state relief after Haverhill’s sewage spill forced nearly two weeks of shellfish bed closures along the Merrimack. Emergency closures in Newbury and nearby coastal areas are easing as recent tests show shellfish are safe, with many beds expected to reopen soon if weather cooperates.
