The city gathers to remember the eight Newton victims of the 9-11 tragedy.

In 2001, on Sept. 11, Newtonâs Mark Bavis was headed to LA in his role as a hockey scout, looking for prospective players at the Los Angelas Kings training camp. Bavis died on flight United Airlines 175.
He was one of eight Newton residents, or those with strong ties to Newton, who died in the 9-11 attacks.
