Albright, Lipof Reelected As Newton City Council Leaders
Susan Albright and Rick Lipof's second terms will begin in January 2022.

NEWTON, MA — The Newton City Council has reelected Ward 2 Councilor-at-Large Susan Albright and Ward 8 Councilor-At-Large Richard Lipof as their President and Vice President for the 2022-23 term.
Albright and Lipof will be formally nominated and elected at an inauguration ceremony in January 2022. However, it is tradition for the Councilors to convene informally and choose officers for the upcoming term.
“I look forward to doing good work for our students and our residents together with our City Councilors, School Committee members, and their leaders,” said Mayor Ruthanne Fuller in a community update last week.

Other nominees for President and Vice President included Ward 4 Councilor Chris Markiewicz and Ward 7 Ward Councilor Lisle Baker, who put his name in for consideration for Vice President last month but was instead unanimously reelected as President Emeritus.
The date of next year's inauguration ceremony has not yet been announced.
