Newton Chiropractic Practice Adds New Red-Light Therapy Booth

The Indoor Oasis opened a an expansion of the business in 2020.

NEWTON, MA — A chiropractic practice has expanded its wellness offerings with the addition of a new medical-grade red-light therapy booth at its Newton Upper Falls location.

Newton Chiropractic and Wellness Centre recently announced the launch of an FDA-registered Red-Light Recovery Booth at The Indoor Oasis, the practice's wellness spa located inside the Echo Bridge Office Park at 383 Elliot St. According to the practice, the booth combines red-light therapy with halotherapy, which uses pharmaceutical-grade salt-infused air, and an oxygen-enhanced environment during 15-minute treatment sessions.

The practice said the booth has four wavelengths of red and near-infrared light designed to target different layers of the skin and underlying tissue. According to Newton Chiropractic and Wellness Centre, the shorter wavelengths are intended to stimulate collagen and elastin production while reducing inflammation and acne. In comparison, the longer wavelengths are designed to penetrate deeper into tissue to help reduce inflammation, ease muscle soreness and support joint recovery.

"We wanted to offer something that goes beyond what most red-light therapy on the market provides," owner Dr. Julie Burke said in a statement. "By layering in halotherapy and oxygen-enhanced air alongside four wavelengths of light, we're able to give our patients a session that supports the skin, muscles and joints all at once, while also helping them genuinely unwind. It's a natural complement to the chiropractic care we've always provided."

The new booth expands the services available at The Indoor Oasis, which Burke opened in 2020 as an extension of Newton Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. The wellness spa offers massage therapy, float therapy, an infrared sauna, hydromassage, lymphatic drainage, SoftWave acoustic wave therapy, and several other recovery treatments alongside the practice's chiropractic services.

Burke founded Newton Chiropractic and Wellness Centre in 1991. After operating for more than two decades at a Route 9 location, the practice relocated to the historic Echo Bridge Office Park in Newton Upper Falls in 2013. Today, the chiropractic center and spa occupy approximately 9,000 square feet overlooking Hemlock Gorge Reservation, the Charles River, and Echo Bridge.

The Red-Light Recovery Booth is available now by appointment.
