3. Antisemitic Graffiti Found At Newton Playground, Suspect Charged (bcheights.com) — Antisemitic chalk graffiti, including swastikas and a Nazi phrase, was found on the playground at The Aven apartments on Needham Street in Newton, and police quickly identified and charged a suspect with defacement of property. Newton police say the incident appears isolated, note antisemitic reports are down from last year, and emphasize continued security coordination with local synagogues during the High Holy Days.

5. Women's Soccer Opens ACC Play With 2-0 Win Over Syracuse (bceagles.com) — Boston College women's soccer stayed perfect with a 2-0 win over Syracuse at the Newton Soccer Complex, right here in Newton. The Eagles controlled play with a 14–6 shot advantage, goals from Georgina Clarke and Sophie Reale, and a shutout from goalkeeper Olivia Shippee, marking their first opening ACC win since 2018.
