Barbara Brousal-Glaser Wins Ward 3 Seat in Newton
She won the seat previously held by Sal Salvucci, who died earlier this year.
Barbara Brousal-Glaser on Tuesday was elected as the new Ward 3 alderman.
She beat out three challengers for the seat. Here are unofficial vote totals:
- Barbara Brousal-Glaser, 780 (44 percent of the vote)
- Maria Manning, 495 (28 percent)
- Jeanne Marrazzo, 379 (22 percent)
- Francis Azzarto, 92 (5 percent)
- Write-ins, 9 (0.5 percent)
“I am so excited and honored to have been elected,” Brousal-Glaser said in a statement.

The race was held after longtime Ward 3 representative Sal Salvucci died earlier this year.
