Newton South High School Safe After Bomb Threat: Police

A call was placed into the school early Thursday morning, but police have deemed it safe for classes to continue.

NEWTON, MA - Newton South High School has been given the all-clear following a bomb threat early Thursday morning.

Newton Police told Patch that an investigation is being conducted, but the threat was unfounded.

Close to 20 high schools in Massachusetts received bomb threats Thursday as a wave of calls hit the state for the second time this week.

On Monday a number of schools across the Bay State received similar threats, determined to be another round of anonymous robocalls that have been sent out in the past.
