Event Details
The Meeting House Child Care Center will be celebrating the International Day of Play! This is an annual event in response to Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It states: "Every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts" This Article has been ratified by every nation on Earth- except the United States. That means American children have no formal treaty-level guarantee of their right to play. At the Meeting House Child Care Center we follow a play-based approach to learning in a safe and nurturing environment both inside and outside every day. We will celebrate this important day with some special activities in our certified Outdoor Classroom with some invited guests from IPA (International Play Association).
