Fix-It Clinics empower Newton residents to fix for themselves, and are totally no-cost! Bring in a broken household item and a Repair Coach will help guide you through diagnosing and repair. 
&nbsp; 
Reserve a time slot based on the category of broken item. Walk-in repairs as time permits. Categories will include small appliance &amp; electronics, sewing and textiles, lamp repair and rewiring, jewelry, computers, bicycles, gluing,&nbsp;musical instruments, and more!&nbsp;
Fix-It Clinics are run by the Newton Recycling Committee, with the Newton Free Library, the Newton DPW Sustainable Materials Management Division, and funds from a MassDEP grant.

Get outside and embrace the FALL by learning how to shoot a bow and arrow at the historic Gore Place Estate! 
Join us Sunday from 12:00 - 1:30 PM for a fun and entertaining introduction to archery and reconnect with your inner Katniss or Robin Hood.&nbsp;
All coaching and equipment is provided by our team of instructors who will have you laughing, smiling and maybe even weeping with tears of joy as you strike the bull's eye and relive all those childhood memories of archery - or create new ones for the first time.

On Monday, October 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM–5:00 PM, Indigenous Peoples Day Newton returns to Albemarle Park &amp; Field in Newton for a free, family-friendly, Indigenous-led celebration.
🌿 2026 Theme: “Medicines of the Lands: Healing Through Ancestral Plants”
This year's celebration honors Indigenous relationships with plants, medicines, foodways, the land, and ancestral knowledge carried across generations.
Spend the day with Indigenous Tribal leaders, Elders, culture bearers, youth, artists, dancers, drummers, educators, and vendors from throughout the Northeast and beyond.
The celebration will feature:
• Indigenous drumming and traditional &amp; contemporary dance 
• Cultural presentations and demonstrations 
• Traditional plant and medicine teachings 
• Indigenous youth presentations 
• Indigenous artists, makers &amp; businesses 
• Food vendors 
• Children's and family activities
