Community Leaders Host Newton Forum on Opioid Crisis
"No Regrets: Newton and the Opioid Epidemic" featured a screening of the short film "If Only" and a panel discussion.

NEWTON, MA – Thursday night, community leaders from Newton and the surrounding areas hosted a forum on addiction and the opioid crisis.
Newton Mayor Setti Warren, officials from the Newton Police Department, Newton Health and Human Services, Wicked Sober and District Attorney Marian Ryan came together for "No Regrets: Newton and the Opioid Epidemic."
The forum featured a screening of "If Only," a short film by James Wahlberg, presented by the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation and Millenium Health, and a panel discussion led by District Attorney Ryan.

The panel educated teens and parents in attendance on the nature of addiction and the long term effects of using opioids, including certain medications and painkillers.
