Two Hospitalized After Crash Closes Part of Rt. 9 in Newton
State police say the left lane is now open on Rt. 9 eastbound; the right remains closed.

NEWTON, MA – Two people have been hospitalized following a car crash on Rt. 9 in Newton.
According to the Newton Fire Department, the incident happened on the eastbound roadway. The department originally reported one patient was transported to the hospital but later updated it to two. Newton Fire says both have minor injuries:

Police have reopened the left lane of Rt. 9 eastbound. The right remains closed from Parker Street to Langley Road, according to Newton police.

Dudley Street is also closed at Rt. 9 for the duration of the incident.
State police say all lanes will remain closed until the electric company can secure the pole and wires. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours, according to Newton Fire.
