UPDATE: Crews Battle Early Morning Three-Alarm Fire on Tremont Street
No injuries reported as firefighters battled heavy fire Friday morning.

UPDATE, 11 a.m.: Newton police said Tremont St. between Waverley Ave. & the Boston line remains closed due to an earlier house fire. Please seek alternative routes.
UPDATE, 8:33 a.m.: Firefighters knocked down the fire at 182 Tremont St. CBS News reported that access was difficult for the firefighters, and ice had formed on their trucks. Several hydrants also had to be shoveled out.

Crews are still on the scene of an early morning fire at a home on Tremont Street.

The fire started just before 2:30 a.m. Friday morning at a home at 182 Tremont St. before quickly going to three alarms. At 5:30 a.m. Friday morning the fire was still at three alarms with heavy fire in the attic.
The two and a half story, single family house was completely engulfed in flames as the fire extended between floors and was in the walls.
No injuries were reported.
