Elderly Newton Resident Identified As Man Found Dead In Charles River
State Police said foul play is not indicated in the death of the 80-year-old man found in Boston on Tuesday morning.
NEWTON, MA â An 80-year-old Newton man was identified as the person whose body was found in the Charles River Tuesday morning.
State Police said patrols responded to the side of the river near the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge at about 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday after a dog walker saw the body near the banks of the river. The State Police Marine Unit removed the body from the shoreline and it was determined he was dead.
"Detectives subsequently visited the man's apartment in Newton and spoke to persons who knew him," State Police said.

Police said no foul play was indicated in the man's death or that his death was the result of a criminal act.
The death investigation will remain open pending a cause and manner determination by the medical examiner.
