Jewish Princesses of Comedy

Three of today’s funniest Jewish female comics – Adrianne Tolsch (pictured), Cory Kahaney and Michele Balan – salute the trailblazing female pioneers of comedy at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Saturday, April 9 (8pm) and Sunday, April 10 (2pm). The critically acclaimed off-Broadway hit Jewish Princesses of Comedy is a multi-media homage to the brilliant comediennes who paved the way for all women in stand-up. The show features rare TV and audio clips from Belle Barth, Totie Fields, Jean Carroll and Pearl Williams, naughty sketches, hilarious anecdotes and live stand-up.

Jewish Princesses of Comedy is part of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Performing Arts Series. The event is co-sponsored by the Jewish Women’s Archive which will host a talk-back after each show. Cost is $28. Purchase tickets at www.jccgb.org/arts or contact 617-965-5226 or boxoffice@jccgb.org
