1. What's going on at Newton North? There will be plenty going on at this evening between the A-Cappelooza 3 concert and the Newton North boys' basketball quarterfinal match. , which will feature Berklee's Pitch Slapped, is unfortunately sold out. The basketball game, however, is open to the public and starts at 4 p.m. The Tigers are set to take on New Bedford.
2. Welcome home. The family of Cpl. Brandon Baia, 2008 graduate of Newton North High School, will hold a welcome home party today at in Nonantum. Baia recently returned from a second tour overseas with the Marines. Mayor Setti Warren is scheduled to attend this event, which starts at 7 p.m.
3. Coffee house. The will host a coffee house tonight starting at 7 p.m. Proceeds benefit Comunities Without Borders and the Chawama Family Home for AIDS orphans in Lusaka, Zambia. Students $5, adults $10.

4. Magic Flutes & Cello Friends. The will host a concert today with . The concert, which begins at 11 a.m., is open to the public. The suggested donation is $5 per person/$10 per family.
5. Need tax help? The AARP® Tax-Aide Foundation will have trained volunteers on hand at the Newton Free Library on Saturdays from 1 p.m-3 p.m., through April 14. Patrons will be asked to register at the table by the side entrance and will be assisted on a first come-first served basis.
