Former Newton Mayor David Cohen Endorses Ruthanne Fuller

Cohen served three terms as Newton's mayor and represented the city for 19 years at the Massachusetts State House.

NEWTON, MA —Former Mayor of Newton and State Representative from the 11th Middlesex District David Cohen has officially endorsed Mayor Ruthanne Fuller in her run for re-election, said Fuller's office in a news release.

Cohen served three terms as Newton's mayor and represented the city for 19 years at the Massachusetts State House. In his endorsement, he applauded Fuller's leadership and commitment to bettering Newton.

“Mayor Fuller’s steady hand at the helm and thoughtful leadership have guided Newton through its stormiest time. Her resolve, foresight and dedication to the city she loves make her uniquely qualified to lead us forward over the next four years,” said Cohen.

Cohen’s endorsement comes after Mayor Fuller's recent endorsement from EMILY's List, a national organization dedicated to promoting women candidates for office, National Champion for Women's Equality Barbara Lee, and a group of local environmental leaders.
