Make sure you fill it out, or it makes voting a pain. Plus, it's the nice thing to do.

Please return your Annual Census Form at your earliest convenience. Massachusetts Law requires an annual street listing of residents as of January 1st each year (M.G.L. Ch. 51 § 4).

Responding to the Annual Census keeps your voting status active. Even if you are not a registered voter, responding to the census will ensure that the City Clerk’s Office can provide you with proof of residency. Responding to the Census does not register you to vote.

Please mail your form to the Election Commission using the envelope included with the form or hand deliver your form to the City Clerk’s Office at Newton City Hall.

If you did not receive a form, you can download one by going to the City Clerk’s webpage and printing one out. Drop off the completed form at the City Clerk’s office or mail it to:
