K9 Devaney Helps Nab Runaway Houserobbers in Newton

Devaney the state police dog tracked down a suspect in Newton.

Early Monday morning, just after 4 a.m., Massachusetts State Police Trooper Paul Conneely and his K9, Devaney, got a call to assist in a search in Newton.

Two suspects had fled from a break-in to a house and cars in Brighton and headed to Newton, said Massachusetts State Police police.

Devany sniffed his way down the whole street, and headed through a gate into the side yard of a home, where the two suspects were hiding on the deck at that home.
