Live Grenade Found In Newton Home? False Alarm
A bomb squad determined the grenade found at a Newton home was not live. But this is the second time in a week they've come to Newton.

NEWTON, MA — Fire officials confirmed that the grenade found in a Newton Home and that prompted a call to the State Bomb Squad was not live.
Newton police and fire responded, as did the bomb squad, which took the grenade away to dispose of it. The term they used was "inert," according to Newton Fire officials.
This comes less than a week after someone cleaning up a scrap metal yard found a live artillery shell in Newton, prompting a call to the bomb squad.
