MBTA Bus Spins Out, Blocks Lanes Of Traffic On I-90 In Newton

The incident took place at approximately 7 a.m. in the area of exit 125.

NEWTON, MA — An MBTA bus ended up blocking multiple lanes on I-90 Westbound in Newton Friday morning after losing control during the snowstorm, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Officials said the incident took place at approximately 7 a.m. in the area of exit 125.

A tow truck was brought in to turn the bus in the right direction and move it off the highway. The scene was cleared by 9 a.m.

MassDOT currently has over 2,516 pieces of equipment deployed statewide to remove snow and ice. Due to the poor driving conditions, 40 mph speed limit restrictions are in place on I-90 from the New York border to I-495 in Westboro.
