NEWTON, MA â Come on America, we can get through this. Voters march to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8, to help decide one of the most historical presidential elections in most of our lifetimes.
From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., voters hit voting booths across the country, electing not only our next commander-in-chief, but members of congress, state representatives and senators, councillors and county sheriffs in their communities.
The unofficial results are in, according to the Newton city website. Here's a look at how Newton voted in 2016:

At the Newton Free Library, Maggie Alexander reflected on having just voted for Hillary Clinton.
"It felt historic," Alexander said. "I've watched her career over time, and it seems like she's someone who's had her kids and family in her heart."
She told Patch it was important for her kids to have positive and diverse role models, and said there were many dinner table conversations about the rhetoric used throughout the campaign.
"My 13-year-old son has more information about Trump's comments than I do," she said. "I think our children are probably saying, 'What went wrong?'"

"I hope that we can move forward in a united way," she said.
Meanwhile the Yospin family sported matching smiles and "I Voted" stickers as they left the polls Tuesday:
