• Head of Newton Housing Authority resigns per deferred prosecution agreement (figcitynews.com) — Newton's Housing Authority executive director Michael Lara has resigned under a federal deferred prosecution agreement tied to alleged misuse of Watertown Housing Authority funds, and an acting director has been appointed. Local commissioners say Lara has been removed from all Newton Housing Authority accounts and systems, a new audit is underway, and the agency plans a search for a permanent leader while maintaining services for residents.
