Newton City Hall Holiday Tree Lighting: What To Know

There will be refreshments.

NEWTON, MA — Tis the season for holiday gift drives, tree lightings and sing-a-longs. The Newton mayor and her grandson Henry will be on hand at City Hall for a Community Sing A Long and Tree Lighting this Friday, Dec. 7, at City Hall.

The Sing-A-Long with the Stacey Peasley Band begins at 6 p.m. in the War Memorial at City Hall (the Cultural Center Auditorium). The Tree Lighting will follow on the front steps of City Hall at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served and Rob’s Guitar School will be playing.

Come and enjoy the festivities, and please help us stuff a police cruiser with unwrapped gifts for children – newborn to age 10 - as part of the 11th Annual Holiday Gift Drive sponsored by the City of Newton and the Village Bank.

If you would like to donate a toy but can't join us at the tree lighting, look for Holiday Gift Drive collection boxes at The Village Bank branches in Auburndale, Newtonville, Nonantum, Newton Highlands, Waban and West Newton.
