Newton FD Holding 'Boot Drive' for Toscano Family
This weekend's fundraiser will benefit the family of fallen Watertown firefighter Joseph Toscano.

NEWTON, MA – The Newton Fire Department this weekend will host a "boot drive" for the family of fallen Watertown firefighter Joseph Toscano. Firefighters ask that donations be brought to Station 2 at 1750 Commonwealth Avenue this Saturday, March 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dropped in the firefighter's boot.
Checks may also be made payable to the Newton Firefighter's Children's Fund or donations may be submitted online here. All proceeds will go to the Toscano family.
Toscano, 54, was a married father of five. He died last Friday after collapsing at the scene of a two-alarm fire in Watertown, at which the Newton Fire Department provided assistance.
