Newton Mayor Setti Warren Endorses Martha Coakley

Warren said Coakley is the "clear choice" in her gubernatorial race against Charlie Baker.

Newton Mayor Setti Warren on Thursday endorsed Martha Coakley for governor.

“Martha Coakley is the clear choice for governor when it comes to standing up for our cities and towns,” Warren said in a statement. “Throughout her career in public service, Martha has been fighting for the people of Massachusetts—especially for those who do not have a voice.”

Warren has served as Newton’s mayor since 2009. He ran as a Democrat in the 2012 U.S. Senate race but dropped out before the primary.
