Newton Mayoral Candidate Amy Sangiolo To Host Forum On City Rats

The forum will be led by urban rodentologist Dr. Bobby Corrigan

NEWTON, MA — Newton mayoral candidate Amy Mah Sangiolo will host a virtual public forum to discuss the city's rat problem on Wednesday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m.

"Lets Talk About Rats in Newton" will be led by urban rodentologist Dr. Bobby Corrigan, who will talk about the increasing number of rats in Newton and what to do about it.

"The purpose of this community forum is for residents to share their experiences and have their questions answered from the foremost world expert on eradicating rats, Dr. Bobby Corrigan," said a news release from the Amy Sangiolo for Mayor campaign.

A world-renowned rodentologist who specializes in mitigating rodents in urban settings, Corrigan has over 25 years experience developing pest control management programs and has spent 16 years as a teacher and researcher in the Entomology Department at Purdue University.

Corrigan is also a member of the Pest Management Hall of Fame, author of over 160 technical publications on rodent control, and previous winner of both the EPA's Award for Innovative Pest Management Programs and New York City’s Distinguished Service Award for Innovative Rodent IPM Research.
