Newton Police: Arrest for OUI (Second Offense); Stolen Bike

On Feb. 27, police responded to the area of Newton-Wellesley Hospital for a report of an erratic driver. The caller said the car was swerving all over the road and was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes on Washington Street. Police spotted a dark BMW X5 traveling westbound on Washington Street toward Wellesley. Police pulled the car over on Washington Street at the corner of Grove Street. The officer smelled moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver. His eyes were bloodshot and glassy and his speech was slurred. Soufiane M. Abdelouahed, 54, 10 Nouvelle Way 728, Natick, was arrested and charged with OUI (second offense)
On Feb. 28, police were conducting traffic enforcement on Commonwealth Ave. and Islington Road. They spotted a car traveling eastbound with an expired inspection sticker. The car was stopped and the information came back that the driver had a suspended license. Bryant Benjamin Alandel, 41, 26 Monroe Ave., Worcester, was arrested and charged with operating after suspension.
On March 1, police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle. A woman rode her bike to her work and left it unlocked in the driveway as usual. The bike was last seen at 2:30 p.m. and gone by 3:15 p.m. It’s a black racing bicycle without any other markings.
