Newton Police: Man Allegedly Smuggled Steak and Shrimp from Star Market
The following was supplied by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Incidents, June 21
- Police were dispatched to 1 Boylston St. (Star Market) for a report of a shoplifting in progress. The caller said he observed a man attempt to conceal a large number of steaks and shrimp and attempt to exit the store. Saeed Jihad Muhammad, 56, 250 Park St., Dorchester, was arrested and charged with shoplifting by asportation and is no longer welcome to shop at Star Market.
- Police were dispatched to Edgefield Road for a report of past breaking and entering to a residence. The entire family had left the house around noon and returned at 9:30 p.m. One of the homeowners said that the drawers in her master bedroom were opened, and noticed the screen from the window propped on the ground. It appears the suspect(s) cut the screen, then came through the master bathroom window. Since nothing was missing, another homeowner said that he thinks his return may have made the suspect(s) leave.
