Newton Police: Man With Long Hair and Jumpsuit Walks in Zig Zags; Break-In on Pearl Street
The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On May 6, police responded to Pearl Street for a past break in to a residence. The owner said she left for work around 6:50 a.m. and returned at 4:30 p.m. and found her home had been broken into and rifled through. She stated the only thing she noticed missing was her jewelry box from the bedroom. The jewelry box is light brown and 12”x12”. Inside was a gold ring with sapphire stones and a silver Tiffany necklace with a teddy bear pendant.
On May 6, at approximately 7 p.m., police responded to Hargrave Circle for a report of a suspicious person. A woman said she was on her way home when she noticed an unidentified man walking around in a strange zig zag manner near the intersection of Beaconwood Road and Hargrave Circle. The person looked at them, turned around, ran in the opposite direction in an awkward manner, stopped and walked onto Hargrave Circle before disappearing out of sight. Video footage corroborates the story, but was not clear enough to identify the man. He is described as white, in his 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, thin with curly brown hair down to his jawline, wearing a green jump suit with black shoes. The same man was at the same spot on May 3.
