Newton Police: Man Takes Hennessy, Puts in Pants; Car Tire Slashed Three Days in a Row

The Newton Police Department supplied the following information. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On Sunday, May 3, police responded to the security office at Wegmans on Boylston Street. The employee said that on May 2 around 9:40 p.m. a black male with a large build, wearing a gray sweatshirt and black baseball cap, took a bottle of Hennessy that was valued at $33.99 and put it in his pants. He then headed in an unknown direction.

On May 3, police were dispatched to Lincoln Street for a report of past malicious damage to a car. Two days earlier, a woman said she parked her vehicle in front of Chester Street and her left side rear tire was slashed. The day after she parked her vehicle in the same area and the same rear tire was slashed. Yesterday, she parked on Chester Street in front of the side entrance to Lincoln Street and had her right side rear tired slashed. It happened on three consecutive days.
