Newton Police: Plant Tipped at Yogurt Beach; Breakin on Dedham; Arrest

Incidents, Saturday, May 16
Police took a report of vandalism. Police discovered after arriving at Yogurt Beach at 665 Watertown St. that sometime overnight, someone had taken the plant that sits in front of his business, and threw it on the ground.
Police were dispatched to Dedham Street for a report of a past breaking and entering to the residence. Taken from the residence was one gold necklace that had a gold pendent on it, which was taken from dresser. Nothing else of value appears to be missing at this time.

Police observed a Lincoln Town Car traveling eastbound on Waban Street. Police were familiar with the vehicle and its owner from past incidents. Police pulled the plate via the RMV database and it evened that the vehicle’s registration was revoked on May 22. It also revealed that the driver’s license had expired and is nonrenewable. Police pulled the car over and placed the driver under arrest. Leonard Schofield, 52, 29 Adams St., No. 5, Waltham, was charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle on a public way, operating after revoked registration.
