Newton Police: Two Vehicle Breaks on Melbourne; Stolen Watch and MacBooks

The following are excerpts from Newton crime reports. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Feb. 23

  • Police responded to the Jackson Road School for a report of past B&E of a motor vehicle. The reporting person said that sometime overnight, someone entered her unlocked Toyota at her residence on Melbourne Ave. Some loose change from her cup holder was taken.
  • Police responded to Melbourne Ave. for a past B&E to a motor vehicle. The woman said someone entered her unlocked motor vehicle, which was parked in her driveway. She got into her vehicle int he morning and noticed her glove box and center console were open. She said that some of the items in the compartments were scattered on her two front seats, but nothing seemed to be missing.
  • Police responded to the Cabot School for a report of past larceny. The person reported that on Sept. 26, 2014 and Dec. 11, 2014, two Macbook Airs were last reported in use.
  • A larceny was reported at Waban Health and Rehab. A man explained that someone took his watch from the case kept in the night stand. He last saw the watch back in December. The box, case and paperwork are all there, but not the watch. It was a Citizens model.
