Newton Police: Vandals Wreck Bobcat, Backhoe; Several Car Breaks
The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Tuesday, Jan. 20
- Police responded to a report of a past B&E to a vehicle on Woodland Road. The owner said her car was unlocked and someone entered it between midnight and 7 a.m. on Jan. 19. The glove box and console compartment was rifled through, but nothing was taken.
- Police responded to the Montessori School for a past larceny report. Sometime between Jan. 16 and Jan 19, someone stole a MacBook from an office there.
- Police were dispatched to Needham Street to a rear lot for a report of destruction to construction vehicles. The company keeps a Bobcat and backhoe there, and they had been vandalized. The Bobcat was last seen in normal condition on Jan. 16. When workers arrived on Jan. 19 at 4:30 a.m., the Bobcat’s two rear tires were slashed and punctured. The right rear tire was flattened. The backhoe had two cabin windows and a top backlight torn off and shattered.
- Police responded to a report of larceny of a bike at Cedar Street at 6:30 p.m. The bicycle brand is Jamis and it was black, green and white.
- Police took a report at headquarters for a past B&E to a motor vehicle on Maple Street. The owner’s 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer was ransacked.
Wednesday, Jan. 21
- At 10:15 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 200 Boylston St. One of the parties had two active warrants. Karla Roxana Alonzo, 28, 150 2nd St., 211, Framingham, was arrested on these warrants which include charges of driving without a license, refusing to identify herself,
