Newton Police: Woman Charged After Allegedly Stealing Co-Worker's Clutch, Having Pills, Gun in Her Car at Bertucci's

The following was supplied by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Randolph woman is facing charges after allegedly stealing a co-worker’s clutch and hiding the contents in the ceiling of the bathroom at Bertucci’s in Newton.

On May 25, shortly after 1 a.m., police responded to Bertucci’s on Centre Street, where a manager reported that an employee had her clutch stolen from her purse. The purse was under the serving station, which isn’t accessible to the general public, so the manager believed an employee had stolen it.

The manager asked all employees for permission to search them and their bags for the missing clutch. They weren’t able to locate it, so the manager called police.
