The mission of NSF is to advance excellence and equity in the Newton Public Schools by making grants in three strategic areas, including new classroom approaches, professional development, and programs addressing inequities associated with race, income level, and social identity.

According to the foundation’s presentation, NSF has awarded 29 new grants since the start of the school year that will impact over 12,000 students across all grade levels. Round two grants will be awarded in April and May for summer and early fall projects.
