Newton Resident Report Several Stolen Cars, Garage and Car-Breaks

Incidents, Sunday, April 12

  • Police responded to 55 Boylston St. for a past B&E of a motor vehicle. The owner said he parked his Honda Accord in the employee parking lot on the street around 4:45 p.m. He left his cell phone on the passenger side seat, locked his doors, but accidentally left his passenger side window rolled halfway down. He returned to his car around 1:05 a.m. to find his cell phone, a black Samsung Galaxy with a cracked screen, gone.
  • Police responded to Warren Road for a report of a B&E into a car and the garage at the residence. The owner said he left his Toyota Camry unlocked parked overnight on the street in front of his house. His old iPod from the passenger side front seat and the home garage door opener from the visor were stolen. He said he slept throughout he garage break in but that his wife heard the door opening and saw a silhouette in the darkness walking from the house.
  • Police took a report for a theft of a car on River Street. The owner said sometime during the night someone stole his car, a 2005 Subaru Outback, black) while it was parked in his driveway.
  • Police responded to Byfield Road for a report of a past B&E to a motor vehicle. The owner said someone entered his car, a 2010 black Infinity M35, during the previous night. It was unlocked in the driveway. The glove box was rummaged through and the items were removed and placed on the passenger seat. A clear bag of change was taken. It had about $10 in it.
  • A caller from Beacon Street said that she saw a white male in his 20s, about 5’6” to 5’8”, medium build, wearing a grey sweatshirt, jeans and white sneakers, enter her unlocked 1987 Chrysler van and take some loose change. The car was parked in the rear of her house. He fled toward Cleveland Circle.
  • Police responded to Oak Vale Road for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The owner said he left his unlocked Toyota 4 Runner in the driveway with the keys in the ignition.
  • Police responded to Park Street for a past B&E. The owner found the slider open with the key missing.
  • Police were dispatched to Judith Road for a report of past B&E to a motor vehicle. The owner said he parked his 1999 Honda Civic, black, in his driveway the previous night. When he returned in the afternoon, his Apple MacBook was missing from the back seat.
  • A past B&E to a motor vehicle was reported on Fuller Street that happened overnight. The owner said her Honda Accord was broken into some time overnight. She also informed police that her garage door opener was used to gain access to her garage. Nothing was stolen. The person took a box of poker chips and a cell phone charger and threw it into the neighbor’s yard.
