Newton School Committee Race 2017: Mayor Warren Endorses Gail Spector
Gail Spector, former Newton TAB editor is running for Newton School Committee.

NEWTON, MA — Mayor Setti Warren endorsed Gail Spector a former journalist who is running for School Committee in Ward 8, one of four contested seats in the November race the campaign announced.
"I'm proud to endorse Gail Spector for School Committee from Ward 8. Her experience as a journalist covering the Newton schools and her commitment to this city will make Gail a terrific addition to the School Committee," said Warren in a statement according to Spector.
Spector has lived in Newton for more than three decades and raised two children in Newton Public Schools. She also covered Newton for nearly two decades as the former editor of the Newton TAB.

"I'm honored by his confidence in me," she said in a press release.
Spector noted on her website that her priorities include keeping class sizes small, having a wide range of educational options, funding programs that help children develop skills to reduce and/or manage stress; programs that aim to narrow the achievement gap, Sound fiscal management, and improved communication between the School Committee and the community.
