Newton Schools Closing For Second Staight Day Amidst Blizzard
The city's parking ban will also remain in effect.
NEWTON, MA — Newton Public Schools will be closed for a second consecutive day on Tuesday, district leadership announced on Monday evening.
This comes as a major blizzard hits Massachusetts, with Newton and other neighboring communities receiving more than a foot of snow as of Monday afternoon. Snow began falling in the Bay State late Sunday night, and the storm ramped up in the pre-dawn hours of Monday, which also included fierce winds.
In addition to schools closing, the city-wide parking ban will also remain in effect. All vehicles parked on-street could be ticketed or towed while the ban is taking place.
