Newton Top 1 Percent of Cities With the Highest Credit Scores: Study
A recent WalletHub study ranked Newton 35th in the nation this year in average credit score.

NEWTON, MA – Credit where credit's due, Newton. The city boasts an impressive average credit score, according to website WalletHub, landing it in the top 1 percent on the site's list of "Cities With the Highest Credit Scores."
WalletHub calculated Newton's average credit score as 739.34 and ranked it 35th overall in the nation. The website analyzed average credit scores in 2,534 U.S. cities and categorized each community based on populations of more than 300,000, 100,000-300,000 and less than 100,000.

- Needham (10th Overall): 747.56
- Wincheser (13th Overall): 745.94
- Belmont (21st Overall): 742.26
- Newton (35th Overall): 739.34

- Arlington (44th Overall): 738.48
- Andover (48th Overall): 737.19
- Hingham (49th Overall): 737.19
- Brookline (91st Overall): 731.88
