Newton's 4 Area Councils To Host Candidate Debates For 2021 Races

Newton Highlands, Newtonville, Waban and Upper Falls will host candidate debates for all contested races.

NEWTON, MA — Newton's four Area Councils - Newton Highlands, Newtonville, Waban and Upper Falls - will host virtual candidate debates for the office of Mayor and all contested races for City Council and School Committee on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17.

The debates will be moderated by Marjorie Arons-Barron, Greer Tan Swiston, and Matt Yospin, who were chosen based on their knowledge of city issues, experience with public speaking, professionalism, willingness to participate without remuneration, availability, and unbiased stances.
