NEWTON, MA – A Newtonville resident will participate in this year's Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer's to honor the memory of three of her close family members.
Rachel Adler-Golden will walk September 25 at DCR's North Point Park in Cambridge for her mother, Rose, mother-in-law, Sylvia, and her husband's aunt, Ida, who she lost to the disease.
She is also walking for her friend's late husband, who had early onset Alzheimer's.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for care, support and research.
"We are grateful to each person who makes a commitment to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s by participating, volunteering or making a donation," said Jim Wessler, president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. "The funds raised will provide support to people impacted by Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to the research that is critical to putting an end to this disease."
Adler-Golden will join more than 6,000 participants at this year's Walk.
