The Veterans Service Center holds its monthly open house on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 345 Walnut St. in Newtonville from 5:30-8 p.m.

Veterans and their families are welcome to come and socialize with fellow veterans, enjoy some food and refreshments and get information about benefits, healthcare, employment and housing.

This month’s guest speaker is Bob Sweeney, the executive director of the Boston Bruins Foundation, as this month’s guest speaker.
